Heather has recently taken time off from traveling. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a new album. Yet to be entitled, this album will have 8 tracks on it. This will be Heathers very first album in which all the songs were written without co-writers and the first of her projects being "self produced."
The previous album was Comfortably Lonely Produced ny Rickie Owens, featuring three un- released songs by Dolly Parton. A cut from Tia Sellers who wrote Lee Ann Womack's, "I Hope You Dance" and a song written by Richie Owens titled " Too tied up to be Tied Down". "A lot has changed since that first full length album" Heather says. "I’ve grown as an artist, as a writer and as a human being. It’s taken a lot to get where I am today!" "God has guided me in the right direction in my personal life and my professional life, all I had to do is let go."
Heathers music and writing style has always leaned heavily on influences from the mountain area in which she grew up however, on this project she is not relying solely on her bluegrass and country roots but ventures out in a style that’s completely her own. In order to define a song to the listener she feels that not only the words need to speak but so should the music and therefore has created most of her arrangements. In the instrumentation of her songs, although a bit more modern, you can still here flavors from the area in which she came. The lyrics aren’t so much about hard times on the farm, but more of the human condition that the era has brought about. And she most certainly doesn’t leave out the greatest human condition of all, Love! Some of the songs on the new album will include; "One Out of Two", and "Everything".
